The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, will host IInvenTiv 2026 on April 6 and 7, bringing together research institutions, startups, investors and industry stakeholders on a common platform to promote technology commercialisation.
Organised under the Ministry of Education, the two-day event is aimed at strengthening the link between academic research and industrial application, an area seen as critical to India’s innovation and deep-tech ambitions.

More than 150 innovations are expected to be showcased, with participation from over 50 startups, venture capital firms and leading academic institutions.
The focus areas include artificial intelligence, healthcare, materials science, earth sciences, semiconductors and chip design, sectors increasingly central to India’s industrial competitiveness and strategic technology priorities.
The programme will feature startup pitching sessions, investor interactions, technology demonstration zones, MoU signings and academia-industry matchmaking aimed at taking research from laboratories to market-ready applications.
Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar is scheduled to inaugurate the event.
Two externally supported Centres of Excellence will also be launched during the programme. One will focus on clean energy-linked livelihood transition in coal mining regions, while the other will work on critical minerals and advanced technologies.
The event is also expected to serve as a feeder platform for Bharat Innovates 2026, a proposed global deep-tech showcase under the Ministry of Education to be held in Nice, France, from June 14 to 16.
The initiative comes at a time when India is seeking to strengthen domestic capacity in strategic technologies and improve the commercial use of publicly funded research.
